Monday Night MADNESS!!!

In the rare time that both me and my roommate are at home, we take time to catch up with each other, and sometimes we do CRAZY THINGS.

Like ear candling.

I've never head about the process before until about last week when my roommate mentioned it to me. Not knowing what it was, and having it described to me as putting a cone in your ear, the light it on fire, causing the cone to suction ear wax and other debris from your ear canal sounded really, really strange. I mean, I'm already a naturally clumsy person...I don't think I really need to willingly stick a cone of cloth covered in wax in my ear and light it on fire. But my roommate was really dead set on trying it, and since you cannot use an ear candle alone, I agreed to help her out whenever she did it.

...and if you know anything of myself and my roommate, it was pretty fun times.

She has the pictures, and I'll post them when she downloads them and sends them to me.

But if you follow the link on ear candling above, I now don't think it's been very effective.

Do not do this. The practice has been thoroughly debunked as ineffective, and is actually potentially dangerous.

Yes. I found that out after the fact when I looked into it myself.

Yes, it's pretty scary, and I was even told of this story where the wax actually melted into someone's ear and solidified there until it later popped out.

Like I said, I don't think it was effective after all, and I'm not going to do it anymore.

We'll see if I try dissuading the roommate from it as well.
