She Loves Me...but is She IN Love with Me?

Where I live, health care is not a human right.

Yesterday I found out that the short-term medical insurance policy I was signed up for was terminated a few days ago. That's a bummer. And it's even more of a bummer that one of the many, many reasons to be denied medical coverage is because one has asthma and actually uses an inhaler to treat it when I do get it.

I've been looking into my options, and things look pretty bleak. Even with the plans that are affordable/comprehensive enough, one prescription I currently take are not covered. Thankfully, there are ways around that, and there are resources that I can utilize. Still, it's pretty sad to think that in order to take care of one's self, there are many, many hoops through which one must jump through. Just make sure that you don't injure yourself while jumping through them - that's going to be a very, very expensive fix.

It almost seems like this is all a sign for me to maybe take up my roommate's offer to marry her, because I'd be pretty much set with medical care, should I need something (like pay nothing for generic drug prescriptions).

Bah. In the meantime, I'll have to cancel all my plans for participating in the running with scissors marathon, as well as the Memorial Day Adrenaline Sport Tour down in TJ. It's just not worth the risk of getting hurt.
