I Should Know Better

I was actually typing up an entry I started yesterday afternoon in Word, as to make it appear as though I'm busy working on something. Things are slow right now, so I have little to nothing to do. I figured, I might as well write something, since I have the time.

Which is very tough to do when you work in an office of two, and your boss was on the phone right next to you looking over your shoulder. I saw her looking in my direction, and I didn't want to stop, otherwise that would be very suspicious looking. When she got off the phone, she asked what I was working on.

I didn't know what to say. Since we don't have anything to do right now, there really is no justifiable reason why I should be typing anything. Eventually after totally losing it with nowhere to take it, the phone rang, which bought me more time to come up with writing up something about developing a more cohesive volunteer program. In fact, I've been wanting to do it for some time now, and what I told her was the truth; I have been talking to my friend who works with volunteers so that we can perhaps develop a program where we have a reliable pool of volunteers who can help us out for shows as well as when we're busy in the office and need an extra hand, etc.

I hate downtime.

Maybe I'll post the actual entry later. She's not in right now, so I have a bit of time.
