No, I don't own any of her albums (though my first incarnation of my iPod had her first and possibly second albums when I got it from Nikki's collection), and I think it was the stupidest thing that she actually charged people lots of money to watch her as a little speck in an arena when all she was doing was dancing and lip synching, but her songs are catchy and have that pop sensibility. Even though I didn't like her songs, I think Christina Aguilera has a better voice, but overall, Britney fared better as an entertainer (read: not singer). Her early work may qualify her to be on my guilty pleasure list.
Let's try to forget the trainwreck of a life she is now living, and think of her younger, simpler times when her career was on the rise and she was in top physical condition.
For some reason, one song always stands out to me. It's not bad of a song, but "Stronger" is a nice, empowering song that was a little different from her cheesy, girly, "I need you, boy, for I am a weak girl with decent dance moves" repertoire. What stands out is the line, "My loneliness ain't killing me no more." I don't know if the person who wrote this song is the same or not, but I like how it's a response to a line in the song that jumpstarted her career.
It's easy to impress me with things like that.
