Carbon Stomin' 2008

Of course it happens to me: On Earth Day, a year when LA has a Car-Free Day, I'll be driving around like a maniac.

I'm going to have to brave horrid 10 Freeway traffic to get to Culver City tomorrow at 8:45, and then I get to take the 405 all the way up to work afterwards. So while people will be totally good to the earth and riding around on their bikes, listening to Michael Franti play acoustic for the green people, I'll be spurting the carbon monox' and cursing the day I was born.

No, I shouldn't be that bad. After all, tomorrow's the 22nd, and 22nds happen to be my favorite day of the months, speaking of day I was born...( :) :( ?)

Either way, if you have the opportunity, tomorrow's Earth Day! Hooray! Go to The Armory Center for the Arts for a "green" talk! Take your bike to work or use public transportation! Don't just recycle, try reusing things, or even better, reduce your need for disposable things (I'm absolutely tickled that I have friends who primarily eat on paper plates, which at first made me sad, until I realized they wash them to use them again! Hooray!) and the landfills and the rubbish that goes with it will be happy with you.

And if you have the time and the means to get there (car-free):

Go here. Cause I can't. :(
