Laying off the Sauce...or Something.

It's not like I've been drinking a lot in the past few days, but having beer every day since Saturday doesn't seem to be a good idea on many different levels.

It's definitely making me feel down.

Either that, or there's a very strange coincidence with how I was generally feeling about this time last year...but last year, I had something very substantial that made me very sad. Then again, I think I have that right now, too. This time, amazingly enough, it's not work.

Perhaps this is also the reason why I'm becoming a borderline workaholic.

Yes, it's true. I added my work email account to my Gmail so I can read what messages I get on the off hours and sometimes I even reply, particularly when it's from my boss. Sometimes, I even email her about something I was thinking about before I forget, or because there's a good chance she'll read it before the end of the day.

It also doesn't help that with Daylight Savings, I'm already used to leaving work when the sun's light is just a trace in the sky, so when I see it's 6 and it's brigh outside, I feel strange leaving work. Leaving work after 7 is a great incentive as well, because there is NO traffic at that hour.

It's taking over my life slowly, and it will honestly be strange this weekend when I don't have anything official going on.

Of course, I was planning on going to the opening of my old work's show. And/or...it's Art Night Pasadena this Friday. I dropped by today for 5 minutes, and I didn't need to be told that it's going to be an amazing show. I know, because I worked on it a bit.

But I guess all this is much better than my being an alcoholic. Let's not hope for that. Though I've had something to drink every day for half a week, I HIGHLY doubt this will become a habit.

UPDATE: Yes, the last two emails I sent were work related. One of them was to my boss, sending her an afterthought from something that was discussed today.

And on an unrelated note, I think it's retarded that the new version of Gmail is retarded and buggy. Sure, I fundamentally don't believe in Daylight Savings, but more than anything, I like consistency. The fact that UI2 can't seem to make that change bugs me to bits.

Read that, Google? I know you do.
