Oh, it hurts.
By no means am I putting myself through Hell Week like I had in High School, when we did nothing but conditioning for the first week before we actually started practicing soccer. We really were put through hell, and I just remember not being able to hang due to my really poor stamina. In a way, I kind of wish I was able to push myself to that limit, but I knew that it would be too much for me. Especially since I actually had to work today.
I wanted to go earlier, but I was a bit weary going out so early with it being dark. I do have a smidge of concern for my safety sometimes, I guess. Then I remembered the park is officially open from 8am to sunset. I decided to play by the rules (a bit), and planned on going around 7:45.
LAP 1: 18.55.13
LAP 2: 17.14.92
LAP 3: 17.07.52
TOTAL: 53.17.57
Going in the morning meant it was considerably colder than when I went yesterday closer to noon, and I kept my fleece pullover on for most of the time. The first lap was walked at a brisk pace, and I decided to try running. This time, I didn't set to try running for 3 and walking for 2; instead, my interval started walking 3 and then ran for 2. It turned out a lot better than I thought. I think the walks were of ideal length, and the runs were short but effective, but I eventually became a bit winded, but nothing that I couldn't manage. At least I didn't experience the pain I did yesterday, but I still became noticeably short of breath.
I think I'll keep this pace for the time being.
