Update II: In Which Mi Gusta la Musica

It probably doesn't help that I lost my iPod, which may be lost within the clutter of my room, or it's lost for no one (at least myself) to find again, but I haven't been listening to music as much as I used to.

I suppose that I would like to change that, as I'm sitting here in Monrovia, once again hunched over my laptop, typing two feet from a desktop computer and better seating in the efforts to reclaim most of my music to my new hard drive. With the combination of my and my sister's collection, we've got a good deal of music, and not every album owned is even uploaded to either computer. Either way, I still haven't listened to much music in the past...good while.

It didn't help that my old car stopped getting an FM signal, which left me to listen to AM signals, but I was able to find this wonderful Lounge/Great American Songbook/Standard station, but that unfortunately went off air. I started listening to music once again when I had the iPod, and it continued for some time when I got my new car and had access to FM stations, a CD player that plays WMA and MP3 formats, plus the auxiliary jack that allowed me to plug in my iPod into my pretty sweet stereo. And then my iPod continued to have problems, and then I just plumb lost it. Around this time I started to listen to KCRW a lot more, which has music programs, but is mostly NPR and the like...I did make an effort to keep some CDs in the car, and burn some giant MP3 discs, but...it's just not the same.

More importantly, I don't have the iPod to connect to the iHome I have in my room to just listen to music. Sure, I could just listen to music using my laptop, but it's just not the same, for some reason.

I spent the night here in Monrovia last night, and was awake pretty early to leave, and I was in the living room when my mom just came home from work and she was having her breakfast. Whether she worked the night before or not, practically every Sunday morning is spent listening to The Beatles Years program on KRTH 101.1, which features stories and rare Beatles tracks. It was something I've been missing out on; it wasn't just the great program that I haven't listened to in ages, but it was also just being able to sit around and listen to good music.

I'm not the best person with managing my time, but with all the things I work on, I must train myself to get back into the habit to turn on some tunes when doing so. I honestly just sitting around and listening to some great music. Wish me luck that I'm able to do this...at least I'm at a good start; I currently have Let It Be playing on the desktop...

With that said, won't you join me for a sing-a-long with The Beatles?

...I just realized I never really scoured the trunk of my car. If I find my iPod back there, I'll feel really, REALLY dumb.
